Seen from inside the Basilica, it presents a spectacular display of colors and light, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lujan.com.ar\/virgen-de-lujan\/\">Virgin of Luj\u00e1n<\/a> in the center of its stained glass. When the sun shines through, the colors create a dazzling, indescribable effect.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"2351\" data-end=\"2367\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Gallery\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"2355\" data-end=\"2367\">Gallery:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2368\" data-end=\"2418\">Conceals the two large sloping roofs further back.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"2420\" data-end=\"2438\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Gargoyles\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"2424\" data-end=\"2438\">Gargoyles:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2439\" data-end=\"2565\">At each corner of the towers are grotesque and fantastic creatures (gargoyles) symbolizing demons trying to attack the Church.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"\" data-start=\"2567\" data-end=\"2570\" \/>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"2572\" data-end=\"2595\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Main_Entrances\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"2576\" data-end=\"2595\">Main Entrances:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2596\" data-end=\"2856\">Three main bronze doors with reliefs open onto San Mart\u00edn Street, accessed by fifteen white marble steps. The central door has a pointed arch with a depiction of the Virgin of Luj\u00e1n among angels and clouds, with the inscription: <em data-start=\"2825\" data-end=\"2855\">Ave Maria, F\u00e9lix coeli porta<\/em>.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"2858\" data-end=\"2885\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Entrance_Staircase\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"2862\" data-end=\"2885\">Entrance Staircase:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"2886\" data-end=\"2975\">On the right side, a plaque commemorates the visit of Pope John Paul II on June 11, 1982.<\/p>\n<hr class=\"\" data-start=\"2977\" data-end=\"2980\" \/>\n<h2 class=\"\" data-start=\"2982\" data-end=\"3007\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Interior_Features\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"2985\" data-end=\"3007\">Interior Features:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"\" data-start=\"3009\" data-end=\"3027\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Symbolism\"><\/span><strong data-start=\"3013\" data-end=\"3027\">Symbolism:<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"3028\" data-end=\"3339\">The interior represents the image of the crucified Jesus. The main altar symbolizes His head. Behind it, in the reredos, is Mary, His Mother. The lesser altars surrounding the main one form a crown.
